Fuel Gauge Problem

My fuel gauge does not go down when I turn the car off like all the other gauges. It used to though.
Does or has anyone had this problem?
Since I've noticed, my gas hasn't gone down any, but its only been about 20km.

Not sure, though from seeing your other posts, have you fiddled with the electrical wires in the car, if not take it to Toyota
Mine drop.
I've only screwed around with the radio.
I've noticed that the needle is going down as I'm driving, so I won't run out of gas. But it still doesn't drop.
I'm kinda afraid to take it to the dealer, I haven't even made a payment and I've done all this fu**ery to it.
Just shows why you shouldnt hack up a new car........
but you have JSM .... :)

Nope, My retro is in a spare set of headlights and i have H11 connectors on my relay harness that just plug into the factory harness just like the bulb would.
To answer the original question, mine stays up after the key is turned off for quite some time but if left off for many minutes, it eventually drops. Was sitting in a parking lot the other day, waiting for my wife, and noticed this. This is the first Toyota I've owned whose gauge DID drop off eventually. All the old ones would stay at whatever level they indicated when turned off, and when refilled, would take a moment to wander up to the Full mark.

The fuel gauge is only supposed to go down while the engine is running and consuming fuel.:whatwhat: Start the engine, and your problem should go away.
my 05 Camry fuel gauge goes down after about 10 mins of no key inserted. its normal.

I think it's part of the fuel vapour evap mechanism, so after it's done, it would drop. I noticed mine is doing what yours is too. I'll have to remember to ask the service dept.
