I have a 93 AWD Previa. (290.000mi) Recently it is taking a long time to start, just rolls over without firing then eventually it will go. The engine loads up on fuel while cranking and then runs rough for a couple of seconds while this rich mixture burns off (black exhaust), then it runs just fine for the rest of the day.

If the car is shut down it will start immediately again but if it sits for more than a few minutes it cranks over awhile again before firing.

The symptoms and my reading have led me to believe I have a fuel pressure situation? I do not have a tester but plan to have the pressure tested. If the pressure test reveals a problem what part should I target first?
THANK YOU...

I believe Previas have a fifth injector used only at startup when the temperature is cold enough; that a little more fuel is added for faster firing at colder temps. I also have long startups, but it's intermittent. Sometimes I fire up right away when cold and other times it has to turn over five or six times first. Always starts though, so I'm cautious about throwing money at something before I know the reason why. Please post if you figure this out though because it will be helpful for a few of us I think.
