I have a 1997 T 100 4x4 SR5 extended cab with the V6.
recently I began to smell fuel after I drove it, no visible leaks,
It doesn’t happen every time I drive it , maybe once out of every 5 times I drive it,
Something is releasing the vapors but I can’t find the source it appears to be in the engine compartment but I can smell it in the cab also
Any ideas ?

Maybe try investigating with a “hydrocarbon sniffer” tool? (I have no first hand experience with this tool but the idea is sound and the reviews seem to confirm it works.)

I had a leaky injector I had to replace for a fuel smell a year ago, but I could only smell it outside the cab, and only when I’d first start it up; no smell was getting inside. Have you pulled any error codes? Notice any issues starting it up again soon after shutting it off (for example, running into the store for five minutes then coming back out)?

I once owned a '92 Mercury Cougar and after I filled it up I would notice a gas smell. It was the filler tube going to the tank which had a leak!
