Gas prices

I'm not starting a thread to complain about them. I just keep seeing a thread from sept 05 on the bottom of every page whenever I post something so, I thought I'd refresh it, kinda.

What's the price at now where you are? How many MPG are you all getting (be specific with engine size/tranny) ?

I don't currently have a Taco, but will be buying on come the end of the year. Right now, my DD (which is in the shop as we speak, getting struts and an alignment) LeSabre has a 3.8L 3800 series V6 which is getting 15.24 MPG consistantly, 15.78 if I don't romp on it too much. Gas is now down to 1.97 (as of last fill, yesterday morning) and it cost me 32.xx from damn near dead empty.

My '66 Stang was on the road during the 2.65+ days and I was getting about 14 MGP (200ci I6, C4 auto, burnt out 1v carb).

Can't wait for my 236hp, 4.0L, 6 speed Taco getting 19+ MPG!!!!

Oh, one more thing, anyone know what the mileage would be towing a 3000~ pound Mustang with a 4.0/6 speed Taco?

I have a 94 Chevy Silverado 5.7L 158000 miles and still gets 14 mpg. Thes same when I first got it.

The wife drives a 2001 Mazda MPV with 2.5L Ford Contour motor. It has 119000 and gets about 17 mpg the last time i drove it for our vacation last summer.

My daily driver is the 06 DC 4.0L it gets 18-19 mpg depending how much fun I have with it. It is raining here in PHX and it is so fun to try to get the rear end to break free with the locker.

Gas prices are 91= 2.53, 89= 2.43, 87= 2.33 at Chevron. 11/20/07
I get about 18 mpg in my DC 4x4. Combined city/hwy.

I paid $1.78/gallon yesterday here in Oklahoma.
My 07 Tacoma V6 Auto got 19.6 on the first tank. Currently Oregon gas prices are nearly the highest in the country, $2.51 for regular yesterday at Chevron (and Shell was 4 cents higher).
Anyone here tow things with their Taco? When I get mine it'll be more for DD/weekend off roading (my GF has never been, so I figured I can have a blast and have "us" time as well!) and a few tows with the stang, unless i get it running well enough by time I move out.

On my 2 mile walk home from Pep Boys, I noticed, Mobil has the highest prices in the area at 2.15. Every other gas station in the area (there were two others in the intersection of the highway where this Mobil was) are at about 1.97.

My GF has an 07 Scion tC which is getting about 20/22MPG. It all depends on how much traffic and/or construction she hits on her way home from her morning job.
Wal~Mart near my house was $1.91 for 87 octane today. I went ahead and splurged for the $2.11 93 octane.

Since the lift and bigger tires went on, I've averaged between 16.5 and 17 mpg. 80% highway miles.
I payed 1.89 for 89 octane yesterday. I have a 4.0 6 speed xrunner. and i'm lucky to get 18mpg. I just cant seem to stay off that damm right pedal. O well, atleast i'm having fun doing it..lol...

hey RIFLE. where in OK are ya? I'm in Tulsa!
Just payed $2.79 for 91 at the local 76 station. Around town I get about 14-15 mpg.
Just paid $2.35 for 93 Octane here... get about 15-16 mpg on average city... 19 highway...

San Jose CA, 91 octane- $2.97 Unocal
95% city driven 17 mpg. Highway 19-21 mpg depending on how fast I go
V6 6spd.
I just filled up with 89 octane for $1.89 a gallon. Then I added a bottle of octane booster that I got free from my buddy at AutoZone. 87 octane was $1.84.

I sure never thought I'd see gas go below $2.00 again. I should fill my swimming pool up with gasoline while it's cheap.
Just filled up last night...$2.69 for 89 octane. I am consistently getting about 17-18 mpg. I primarily drive 80% highway. That is still with the stock 265/65-17 tires.
87 Octane is about $2.40 around here. My overall MPG over the past 6000 miles is 19.78. Access Cab v6 Pre-Runner Auto.
Dbl cab 4x4 V6 auto I get about 16mpg and gas runs about $3 per gal. But I don't really care?! If the fuel efficiency was a big concern I wouldn't buy a Tacoma!!
My experience is that the mpg is really poor!
My 2001 Silverado got about 21mpg and it had a 5.3 V8.
Just drive it and fill it and move on.
Don't worry about thing you cannot change.
Your truck should bring enjoyment in your life!! Not constant monitoring of how you drive or what you tow.
Or how many gal. am I using if I floor it???
If these thing are a big concern to you then you may have purchased a vehicle that is out of you means??
Simply because you can afford the purchase price of the vehicle doesn't necessarily mean that you can afford to operate, or maintain the vehicle.
Sorry not trying to be a downer?:dunno:
I could probably afford a private plane? But I don't think I can afford to fly and maintain it????LOL!!!!
Point taken. Like I said, I wasn't asking for that reason. I'm just curious what type of mileage these trucks are getting on average.

Like I said, I'm only getting about 15.25 MPG right now and I could care less. The way I see it, if I have to worry that much about gas prices and MPG, I need a better job! LOL!!!

Anyhoo, it seems even at it's worst (city driving) this truck is getting better than my DD with 50/50 city/highway driving.
91 octane gas here is $2.11, V6 and I average anywhere from 21 to 23 mpg with a combination of city/highway driving.

Trust me gas will go back up again. it's only dropping to take our views off of Bush sending more troops overseas.
Fuck bush and fuck the war!

Props to our troops!

Hey "Clu7ch" I checked out your cardomain's page but I didn't see any picture of your truck??
But I want to see it when it done!! Are you going black and silver also?

Didn't buy the truck yet. Came here to get some insight on the truck, not that I needed it to make my decision.

First, it's a Toyota. They are reliable and there's your ENTIRE selling point (I would get chewed out if my Mustang friends heard that.)

Second, I have heard nothing but good things about the truck from people I know.

Third, It's cheaper than an F-150!

The stang is a mess! LOL!! I have got a LOOONNG way to go with that one. I'm leaning towards metallic (<- new) Raven black (<- classic color) with custom, metallic silver stripes on it. The stripes are going to be solid along the front clip and hood, "tearing" along the roof and "flying off" down the trunk and rear end, in a cliche "the car is faster than the paint job", look. LOL!
