Gen3 5-speed auto

Hey guys, I highly doubt this would even be possible... but could/has anyone ever taking a 5-speed automatic tranny from say, a Gen6 Camry and install it in their Gen3? This may seem really stupid, im just wondering if theres any way to install a 5-speed (or higher :p) in the Gen3.

sure, it'd be possible....but so much work that it wouldn't be worth it...be easier to swap in a 5spd stick
^ As King said. I was thinking about it, but I'd just swap a stick in there. Easier and cheaper. And Better all around.
How much does a 5spd cost (part wise) and labor? I doubt I could put one in myself.
I doubt the tranny would even match up with the engine without major modifications....

I'd saw if you had a shop do it ALL, $2,000+. Figure $750 for parts, prolly like $1500 labor, maybe more.
Damn, screw that. Probably just get another car.

I'm happy with my 110K engine and my 85K auto trans. :p

Pretty expensive, but how much would it cost to get a new auto tranny installed if mine just died on me?

I had my auto trans ripped out and replaced with a junkyard part for 850 total.
hmmm... the only time I would consider getting a manual tranny I guess would be if mine died, cause $2 grand is alot to spend on a tranny swap.
Parts wise it's not too much. And if you do it yourself it will cost like $800. I might throw an e153 in my car for about $100 + whatever a new flywheel and clutch cost.
Reason labor os $ on the swap.

What needs to be done (that I can remember). I'm counting this as a PEFESSIONAL that knows the car to a T and can do it:

Change shifter, and cables that go to tranny (3 hours?)
Relocate the E-Brake to the Hand One (3 hours?)
Add clutch pedal and master Cyl (3 hours?)
Add Master Cyl line (2 hours?)
Misc wiring and shit (5 hours?)

I KNOW I am missing some crap. And keep in mind, it would prolly be like $85 and hour or so.

Oh right. I forgot all the pedal/ brake stuff. I'm swapping 5spd for 5spd, so I guess i have no idea what all is involved. whoops
