i've been trying to find if anybody knows what type of light bulbs the '07 camry will be using? i'm about to pickup a hid set for my current car, but will like to transfer it onto the camry once it comes out. Thanks!
i'm not talking about what type of headlights..i'm wanting to know the type of bulb its going to use. Even though it has projectors, it doesn't mean it'll have HID. There are halogen projectors as well.white3ch0c0late said:If you look at pics of the new Camry, its going to already have projectors.
cause he will about a year to enjoy his new HID's before he transfers.LunarMist said:I guess the biggest question is why go through all that when you are going to trade-in your Camry soon anyway for an '07???
I don't drive a camry right now. I'm driving a '98 honda prelude that uses H1 bulbs. But i can hack up a bulbholder to fit the '07 camry bulb style into my headlights, and enjoy HIDs until it comes out. Then i'm going to transfer them over to the new camry.LunarMist said:I guess the biggest question is why go through all that when you are going to trade-in your Camry soon anyway for an '07???
because that one dude in the blazer is a retard. If you're running HID in halogen housing you're suppose to aim it lower to the ground. But of course the dude probably didn't and i doubt it'll help that much since its a suv.Daffunda said:Dang, this is the first time I have read someone thinking ahead to upgrade a car that hasn't been released yet. I don't know what to think.......:ugh3:
Don't go with those aftermarket HID kits. One dude in a Chevy Blazer had one, and it really pissed me off. They are like high beams when installed in a regular halogen housing. So I let him pass, and pulled up behind him, turned on my Bright GEN5 high beams. (They are friggin bright, when coupled with Silverstar 9005's.) See how ya like that, punk.
so don't tell me your flaming me for asking a simple question? it's not like i was getting mad or anything because nobody was able to answer it.JMSinMD said:How the f should we know. The only thing released is some pics and some stats. There are no stupid questions just stupid people. :disappoin
theres a difference. A shit or non shit hid WOULD blind anybody with halogen housing, i mean even with oem hids in a halogen housing that isn't mean for HID would still blind somebody. Any type of HID (shitty off brands, oem, etc.) thats in projectors would not blind anybody if the projector is adjusted correctly.Hawkeye-SE said:My bet would be H7.
But the bigger issue is... DO NOT BUY AN HID KIT.
The fact that the new camry has projectors will just be more reason for retards to spend money on shit HID kits and blind everyone.
I know it wouldn't fit. But i'm buying the HID in spec for the camry not for the prelude, BUT i'll be able to hack up a bulb holder to fit the bulb into my prelude headlights temporarily.xpeed said:Most likely the Hybrid model for the 2007 Camrys will probably come with HIDs, same as the Prius does with certain packages. All I know is that the US Highlander Hybrid doesn't offer HIDs as optional where Japan Kluger Hybrid (Highlander) does come with HIDs as standard. So as far as your question out of curiousity, if you buy a HID for your Prelude most likely it won't be a same fit for the Gen 6 Camry.
Thanks for answering my question. That was basically all i wanted to know.white3ch0c0late said:^Same as all of the other '02-'06 Camry bulbs. 9006 low beam, 9005 high beam, 3457 turn signal.
HID ("OEM or Made in China") in anything not designed specifically for HID will yield poor results.anthongy817 said:theres a difference. Just to point out a simple thing. Only two models are available with HIDs for the Avalons. The Limited Model have HIDs as standard as the Touring models come as an option, but nowadays, Tourings still comes with HIDs as standard you should say. It's quite hard to find a base model without any options on cars these days.HoboJoe said:I wanna place my bet on the gen6 having HIDs. The avalon has optional HIDs as does the Prius. I bet the XLE and Hybrid will have HIDs... Possibly the SE.
These are just hopeful assumptions though, could be halogen projectors.:bleh:
