so i just got back from my wonderful trip to the dealership for my truck. they couldnt figure out the not starting issue (of course) and i complained about my shifting lately, so they checked that out and realized my slave master cylinder needs to be replaced. what the hell????? this truck has 24,000 miles on it and i dont know what im gonna do when the warranty runs out and problems keep coming?

heres the list so far:
Front main leak
leaf spring tsb
slave master cylinder failure
toyota toolbox broke
tailight seal broke
while replacing the front main dealer broke the radiator fan
and im sure there is more i just cant think of right now.

i feel for you man. i to have an 05 but have not had a single problem with it except one of the mud flaps ripping after a snow storm we got here. i just think it sucks how it seems like there is such a hit and miss formation with these trucks. one guy with an 05 has a ton of problems with his but then another guy has more problems with his 06 then a guy with an 05.hope everything works out with your truck man.
thanks man, yeh i would really love to keep this truck, besides the problems it has had i love this truck. u dont see many reg cab 4x4's around here and mine will def be the only lifted one where i live so i hope this is the last problem

Keeping in mind. When you bag on your truck, things are bound to fuck up.

Just take it easy on the old girl.

And like someone else said, buying a car right after a redesign on it, its also bound to have problems, toyota or not.
yeh i should prolly be easier to it, but thinking it was a toyota i could do this kind of stuff to it, since i used to beat the hell out of my 2000 prerunner and never had a problem with it, i guess theses new ones cant handle it.

I had a '99 Ranger. I had 26 warranty repairs in under 18 mths with the Ranger. I firmly requested a sit down with a Ford Regional Service Rep. I explained I wanted Ford to either exchange my vehicle for a similarly equipped new one or give me a full bumper to bumper extended 5 yr/75,000 mile warranty. They elected for the later. And I used it and used it and used it. I kept the truck until the warranty expired. In the end I had close to 40 repairs. Ford had have lost money on my deal. Each time I brought the truck in they would have to keep the truck for a day or two and place me in a loaner.

If I were you I would have a calm heart to heart with the dealership and request that they arrange a meeting with the regional rep in your area.

Good luck.
i actually might try that thanks man

Check your manual for the Florida Lemon Law information
If your truck is in the shop more than 30 days total or more than 3 times to fix the same problem they have to refund your money.

did it with a Land Rover and they refunded my money completely, and if you had a trade in they have to return the value in cash., if you want more info on what I did let me know
the thing is that it hasnt been in the shop to fix the same problem, its all different problems!!! im just gonna hope after this repair that it will be the last because i really want to keep this truck

J, I feel bad for you but revving the engine to 8000 rpm and going through muddy terrain on daily basis does not help the matter.
that was a wrong number ive only had it to about 6500 and that was when i was pulling out pointer in the mud, although i do need to calm down on the mudding

tom-they couldnt figure out what was wrong with the starting, i would just turn the key and nothing would happen, i think it was just mud in the terminals or something

yeh and too add to all the problems i think my leaf spring tsb is coming back. me and pointer tested the back of my truck last night and it sounds like the noise is coming back, although it might have been from the rain and cold, but his girlfriends frontier was in the same weather and not making any noise. when i checked it today it sounded fine, i swear this truck is just messing with me
