Can someone identify the part under the hood of my 2001 Avalon? It's in the very front middle, low down, and it was glowing bright red and car is Shakey and rumbly, 138k miles

The Bank 2 cat is glowing, which might mean it is restricted with too much fuel supply!

I'll bet it is, and has been. Catalytic converter is clogged, or that bank is way too rich. Get that looked at sooner rather than later, like yesterday!!!!

If the engine is shaky and rumbly, there's most likely a misfire on that cylinder bank causing unburnt fuel to be dumped into the exhaust, where it then burns up at the catalytic converter. I would expect the check engine light to be not just illuminated, but flashing.

Is the check engine light on? A bad O2 sensor can cause the ECU to think it’s running too lean, and it’s dumping way too much fuel into the front bank, and it’s burning in the cat, causing it to get red hot!

The cat is clogged and blocking the exhaust from leaving the engine, causing it to super overheat and run very poorly. It needs to be replaced before something blows up.
