Well I am now the new owner of a Vin #,,,,,I traded my Tacoma for a 2007 Tundra,,It is still in transit and i get to use my Taco until then,,,,,,

It should be a screamer ,,, it is a regular cab short bed 4x4 with the 5.7,,,,can you imagine the power to weight ratio....381hp and 4770 lbs......:whatwhat:

i hope it gets here soon,,,,

Thanks for the coments on my truck... i will look in once in awhile....

Sticker? 32K? Does it have the OR package too? I am seriously considering the same setup, minus 4x4.

Lets compare shall we! Lets use a Tundra 4x4 Crew Max vs a Tacoma DC SB 4x4

Tacoma Overall length 208.1 in vs. Tundra Overall length 228.7 in =20 in. or 1.7ft difference. This makes a pretty big deal when parking!

Tacoma Overall width (in.) 74.6 vs Tundra Overall width (in.) 79.9 = 5.3 in. pretty close but this makes a difference on tight trails.

Tacoma Wheelbase (in.) 127.8 vs Tundra Wheelbase (in.) 145.7 = 17.9 in. I bet this thing has a great breakover angle!

Tacoma Approach/departure angle (degrees) 35/26 vs Tundra 28/25 = 7 approach 1 departure. The Tundra is moving into Ford Escape Territory!

Tacoma Minimum running ground clearance 9.5/9.4 vs Tundra 10.4 = Tundra has a slight edge but it is also much longer.

I for one will be keeping my Tacoma. Let me know how it works out on the trail for you Tundra guys. Also keep us updated on how much gas you are using, even though you are not hauling 95% of the time!

yeah, i looked at them today too... when the '08 come out I may just have to go for one... we'll see though... I still like the looks of the Tacoma better... however, the TRD OR I looked at today with the 5.7 seemed pretty nice!

wassup with the asshole routine? The guy said he got a reg-cab tundra 4x4 SB which is 209" long only 1" longer then a tacoma, bitch about 1" and you got a problem. And a tundra reg-cab has a wheel base of 126.8" thats shorter (bearly) then a tacoma.

I'm glad you did your research but at least read the post first before you start flaming. I'm sure the thread starter wasn't trying to flame just letting us know he got a brand new tundra, hell i'd never sell my tacoma for a tundra but i'd still like to know about how they drive.
