So today the navigation in my Camry went nuts. I'm not sure when it happened as the screen was covered by glare when I first started out (Common occurrence thanks to my polarized glasses and horribly angled display) and I was ignoring it as I was driving in rush hour traffic, but as I got close to home I noticed it had my car hopping over to random roads and at times crossing a river(!) more than an hour from my current location.

I tried to reset it while driving (holding the power button) and by powering the car on and off but no luck. I scanned the manual quickly but didn't see anything that could help beyond turning it on and off. Any suggestions before I take it to the dealer?

Really disappointed in this HU - voice commands didn't work when I first bought it, sound system is not as good as my 2012, audio settings randomly reset, and now this GPS issue. It's soured me for good on paying for factory audio upgrades.

I've voiced my dissatisfaction with the voice recognition system (MUCH WORSE THAN THE 2012) to Toyota - on line on the phone- at the dealer. It's all fallen on deaf ears. No response/follow up from anybody. No more Toyotas for me!

Garmin. Tomtom.

WAY less money.
Breaks, toss it out the window.
In a strange city? Put it in your pocket.
Rent a car? You have your OWN unit.
Someone asks "What do you want for birthday/father's day/anniversary/etc." Answer, "A new GPS."
BEST reason to NOT have a built in . . . $1000+ for factory, $100+ for Walmart/Best Buy. The difference will pay for a 7 day cruise to anywhere.

I think I'm done buying modern, new cars for awhile... NONE of them have been trouble free like a new car, this one having issues with the nav system being the most minor. Toyota will see it Thursday, but I need to drop it off tomorrow. PITA.

Don't know the answer to your concern, but I'm hoping in the near future all Toyota models will come equipped with car play and Android auto. Google maps is such better navigation anyway with the real time driving conditions.
