Someone, I forgot who now, did exactly that, separate the black and the chrome. The little tab things were ruined, and there was a border of glue under the chrome going all the way around, pretty chintzy. Really, for the shit you'll have to endure dicking with this, just buy a new grille (they go for cheap on Ebay and those are for the genuine Toyota ones).

Is it possible to remove the chrome outer grill piece from the center black one? I need o replace the black part and cannot remove the chrome piece form the black part de to the little clip things breaking off when I try to bend them
