I have a problem. I'm obsessive compulsive about my grill (actually it's all my truck too ). I can't stop changing it so here is the latest version. I bought a base grill from a fellow TN member (thanks Harry!) and had it painted. The outside is color matched and the interior is Black Sand Pearl with a matte finish and clear coat (2 coats all around :thumbup. Please excuse the rain. And yes the crossbars are that dark which is perfect to me. I'm closer to the TRD Sport look. Maybe I'll get a new hood with scoop next.

I have to thank my buddy for doing an awesome paint job again on the grill. I love it!!!

As for the hood? I think it looks clean without the scoop.
A coworker offered to swap for his scoop hood, but I don't think I want it?

I kind of like the non-scoop hood. But that's just me.

Wow. Looks great! Here I was all happy with my stock chrome grill surround, then I see how it looks with color matched surround and custom blackened grill. Painting the grill black sand pearl makes a huge difference, even with the overcast lighting! Nicely done.:thumbup:

Thanks for the comments guys. We'll see how the BSP will sparkle in the sun (if it ever shows up here). The paint job was done by a fellow TN member for those that asked.

I now have the flexibility to change out grills if I get tired of one or the other. I actually have 3 separate grills to choose from. Lotust, yeah, I'm nuts man. I would prefer to be called a "Tacoma enthusiast."

I like the new one. I just picked up a 2007 TRD Sport with low miles - practically new except I didn't care for the dull faded black plastic grill. Had a local body shop paint it gloss black for me. Took the truck by the shop; they popped the grill out in about 10 minutes; gave me the truck back; then I went back three days later and they popped the freshly painted grill back in. No inconvenience at all. I had trouble deciding between body color and black but I stuck with black. It may be just a little too glossy but I do like it much better.
