What type of modifications to the tokico struts are necessary for fitment? I was lead to believe there may be some grinding of the spring seat. Any information would be appreciated.

since they are garbage why not tell that to eddie habeck who has had them for over 4 years no problems.???

real coilovers cost alot. we all know that. for under 800 bucks you can have a similar setup.

be aware that they are just sleeves that you tighten a small nut to make it grip the strut.

coilover sleeves cannot, in general, be compared to true coilovers...true coilovers are made with shocks that are built for that particular spring rate...plus tons of r&d...worth the money if you have it

now a spring/strut combo would be a lot closer to great suspension than a coilover sleeve plus shocks

but the original post didn't ask about opinions on the gc's, just info on the install...sorry i couldn't help

He has nothing more than a show car. A very high quality one but still, a show car. I guess if all you care about is looks then they are okay.

I don't know the answer to the question about fitment though.

who is eddie habeck and what the hell does he drive?
He has arguably the best gen 4 show car ever. He doesn't frequent the boards much anymore though. He, his wife, and their car have been on TV several times including that Pepsi commercial about the racer chick. He has won too many trophies for me to start listing here. His wife is a professional model now in the car scene. Been in print, on websites, and other media. If you go to yahoo and put in "Eddie Habeck", you will come up with a multitude of websites with his name on them, etc etc, blah blah blah. Don't want to sound like I am on his nuts or anything and I actually don't really like cars that are strictly show that much. But he does have a nice ride and he has always seemed like a pretty cool guy.

He and his wifes website is below...

Still looking for info on the install.
Maybe you should try and contact Eddie through his website I listed above. I am sure his email is on there somewhere. He might know something if nobody sufficiently replies to this thread.

haha i was just searching thru some old threads and found this. you guys are awesome.

The ground controls offer a VERY harsh ride. They are nice that they are adjustable, and you do have to run a performance shock with them (I use Tokico). I would not recommend Ground Controls for a daily driver unless you dont care about having a very bumpy ride. I used to love my old Eibach setup, but it just wouldnt give me the ride height I wanted, but the ride was superior. Hope this delayed response helps!

and if any of you ever need to contact me please do so at [email protected]
