The reason i am asking all of these questions about engines is because i am used to rebuilding muscle cars and 350chev's and there are many different options to go with. My question this time is.....are there companies that make different throttle bodies/ heads/ cam shafts / crank shafts for these little engines - Specifically the 05 Corolla XRS engine :) which from what i understand is slightly different from the GTS engine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to build a Corolla that will beat my 74 Nova on the strip :) just to spite the hardcore muscle car guys :)

sorry bro everything you just ask is going to cost you some coin because everything is going to be custom one off pieces...

What you can do is have your corolla out turn your Nova...

They make a lot of that stuff for the Celica GTS which has the same engine code. 2zzge but I don't know how much is compatible witht he Corolla engine. You will probbaly have to wait a little to find out when people really start modifying that engine. I have actually seen a Celica with nothing but bolt ons and this new engine management system that just came out for them run high 13's so maybe you can use that? Also There are turbo kits for the Celica though that I am sure would fit the Corolla. Turboed, you could definitely have the Corolla waste your Nova eventually. It's not gonna be easy but you can do it. What you really need to do is find a 7th gen Celica board or new Corolla board and ask them. They will be able to help you a lot more than we can.

You can find a 7th gen Celica forum on Celica.net

For Corollas, you can look at www.vvti.net and www.corolla-racing.com

Good luck.

Lot of the same tricks you use on the Nova will work on the Rolla. Porting the head, welding and regrinding the crank for longer stroke, aftermarket pistons, regrinding the cams, etc. I don't know what bolt in parts are available. Bear in mind, 4 valves flow differently than 2 valves, so don't go crazy on a cam.
