Based on the fact that the part is on back-order in Canada (52112-02110), I suspect a few have been replaced. Anyone have any tips?

Just curious, why not sand it down and touch up the paint? It is the first scratch, but probably won't be the last!

I'm lazy and the part's pretty cheap, if only I could find one. I'm not even sure touch up paint is available - it's a dark grey. It's hard to see, but the extension is cracked near the top.

Is the replacement part come painted? Sometimes they come in black and need to be painted to match!

You might as well buy in bulk, I remember my 1st scratch that I was all worried about... 27 scratches ago.

I'm not worried about scratches, especially on plastic parts. It's the crack I'm worried about. One car wash could do a lot of damage if the brush snags.

If its not in a place very noticeable baking soda and super glue. Or hit it with a plastic welder.
