My exhaust manifold is cracked on my '89 Corolla All-Trac (AE-95 with the 4AFE motor) and if feasible I would like to install a headed over another overpriced stock manifold. Which brand fits the best and is the least amount of work to install? After searching I saw a few photos of headers installed on Corolla's and none of them have the heat shield in place. Is it OK to run the header without a shield so close to the radiator? Thanks

surprise surprise... the stock manifolds have a tendancy 2 crack... the extractors on mine have no heatshield and they still work a treat... as for the best brand, well as they are designed for the 4afe they should all bolt up as easily and fit just as well.

Just don't buy a Pacesetter.. oh wait.. 4AFE? you might not have a choice. :yikes:
