Hello - Someone backed into our Highlander and cracked the little chrome piece of plastic that is on the rear bumper. I've ordered a replacement, but am not sure how to go about installing - is it something that can be pried out, and simply snap the new one into place, or is there more to it?

Thanks,

Dave

Edit - in case it it helpful, here is the part - https://www.carparts.com/details/Toyota/Highlander/Replacement/Bumper_Trim/2013/Base/REPT763501.html?TID=gglpla&origin=pla&gclid=CjwKCAjw8e7mBRBsEiwAPVxxiOwoOE7zwHBjFIn7Wv39tZYEOnxScDdQIdgu364k91WQjlb9kNT0NRoCknQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

It is an insert on the bumper cover itself.

In my experience things like this are just snapped into place. I would pull the bumper cover. If you try to pull that piece off you could damage how it mounts into the bumper cover.

Did you have to take the bumper completely off to replace the chrome piece?

I did - I was fearful of breaking an attachment point. I used this video as a guide - made it very manageable, though I had to buy a tool to pop those little plastic fasteners out.
