Hi everyone,

I have been wanting a toyota ever since I got my driver license. I found this one on Ebay and I love it. How much do you think it's worth? If the link doesn't work then the auction number is 280198309128
Please lte me know soon as the auction is going to be over soon and I don't know what to bid on it.

The link to the auction is here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...STRK:MESE:IT&viewitem=&item=280198309128&rd=1

$4500 would be my top dollar and then I would have to really want it. I know the Krager wheels and new tires would be worth a few bucks, but I wouldn't have to have them. It's has a good bit of surface rust underneath (more than he's thinking at least) and would warrant closer inspection. Rust untreated continues to eat at the metal and it would take some time and effort to clean up the undercarriage. Might want to question the mileage. It's not impossible, but the instrument cluster is probably not original and looks to be from a 4-runner or SR5. Did they correct the mileage before installing. Otherwise, it's easy to put in a used cluster that has lower miles and pass them off as original. The interior appears to be really clean, which usually shows it hasn't been abused. I'd absolutely want to see some pics of the engine bay before making a bid. The buy-it-now price of $6500 is way too much money. You could go to $5500 and, while I would feel I paid too much, still get your money's worth. I would also asked about the timing chain and the head gasket. If they haven't been replaced, they're due to go out in a few miles meaning repair costs for you. If both have been replaced with receipts to prove it, you could feel good about spending a few more dollars.

Just my .02 worth.

All in all, it looks to be a good truck. It's location may affect the price some. Depending on where you're at, a 4WD Toyota from this era can range in price from $3500 to $5500.

Thanks for the reply. I just didn't know what to bid on it because you never see them for sale around here. My uncle has one that he bought new in 1992 and I love it. It looks just like this one except for it's blue. My uncle has only 90,000 miles on his because he doesn't drive it very far to work and back. Also, the gauge cluster in my uncles looks exactly like this one so it is a factory cluster.

If they're rare in your area, then it may drive the price up a few bucks. The cluster in this truck is a SR5 cluster. Unless the truck is an SR5, it most likely will not be stock. It is a factory cluster, but was only found on the SR5 models and the 4-Runners. I could be wrong (anyone feel free to correct me) but I'm pretty sure that's how they went. Of course, you always find a couple models that didn't follow the build specifications and include components that were not supposed to be stock. It's certainly possible the cluster in this picture is stock. Still, 99% of the time when you see that type cluster in a standard pickup (not counting the SR5), it's been added on afterwards. Just something to be conscience about. Given the interior condition, it's likely the miles are legit. Still would want pics of the engine bay before making a bid.

Just FYI, I paid $5,200 for mine (see my signature) with only 109,000 miles and new timing belt, gears and head gasket. Absolutely NO RUST, mint interior and clean engine bay. Aftermarket aluminum wheels and fairly new Yokohama 31X10.50 rubber. I was willing to go a few bucks over $5,000 because of the fresh timing chain and head gasket.
