Hi there. I own a 2004 Tacoma (4WD TRD), and about to trade-in for a FJ [traitor! haha]. The dealer has offered ~ the same discounted price for a demo model that has 5K miles on it which is fully loaded with TRD, vs fully loaded without (but brand new). My question is, do I really need the TRD? For the Tacoma, this was a REAL off-road upgrade. Sorry guys, but for the FJ, it looks mostly like a fashion upgrade (wheels). What to do?? Next appt is tomorrow. Oh, I should say that I don't intend to go over serious boulders -- mostly just want to hit the back-country, SKI, etc. Need more space than my Xcab can handle due to a "family upgrade". thanks. Suggestion

Go with the TRD I have a feeling due to availability it will hold a higher resale value. Jon.

I decided to go with just about everything but the TRD. Will trade in tomorrow, yeehah!! As for trade in values, I was told when I bought the bright red Tacoma that it was a hot color, and now am being told I could get more money if it were silver. go figure. And I thought color only mattered to women... ha!! Oh, and as much as I wanted the yellow FJ, I ordered the [smurf] blue after so many taunts from my friends that the FJ looks like a Hummer, ARGH. Hope I can live with that blue. ;-)
