help with amp:: troubleshooting

Hey there guys


so heres my problem, so ive been switching subs and amps etc. so i bought different ones to try them. so now i ended up wit a fogate amp. and it doesnt turn on i checked all the wires and i tried different amps on my car . they work in my friends but not mines.. a friend of mines told me it was because it had to do somehting wit the remote from the headunit.. ehh i dunt know what to do, not sure what else i can do . any sugestions would be helpful thanks

You got to hook the remote wire from the HU. The remote is what allows the amp to turn on. The remote is like an on and off switch.
If you don't have a remote wire from your headunit, you can create a wire running from a +12V source (like the +12V power wire for the amp) into a switch and then back into the remote "teminal" on the amp. This way when you turn on the switch the amp will turn on. Just don't forget to turn it off when you power off your car or you'll drain the battery overnight.

there is always a remote wire. just tap into the wire from the acc. meaning ...there is only power going through that line when the ignition is on. all factory headunits have that....thats how the radios and cd players turn off when you turn the key to your car off and not keep running
