I have a 2001 Tacoma when the headlights are turned off and I apply the brake my dash lights come on. When I turn my headlights on I have dash lights but my outside brake lights look like I am riding the brakes and when I apply the brake it is hard to tell I have the brakes on. Also my light on the cab is also on. Anyone have any ideas to what is going on. Thanks

You have a short somewhere. The fun part is digging in and finding it.

I would pull the tail lights and check for ground where there shouldn't be.

Could this be caused by a bad relay? Could the Brake Pedal Switch cause this? What about a intermitten problem with the alternator? I also forgot to mention that if I push down hard on the brake without the key in the ignition or any lights on the instrument panel lights up. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have any aftermarket lights on your truck?

check to see if you have the correct type of globes fitted it sounds like you have single filament globes fitted instead of the double filament type, or the trailer connector if you have one fitted.
