also you can take out the stereo and the driver seat and replace it with a palstic lawn chair or milk crate (there are pictures of this). also door panels and dash trim can help you lose some more. also try to find people with the dohnut spare tires for the back if your gona do drag.

yea those door panels are easy to take out and the weight about 4-5lbs each. i nver knew AC and CC would take out 100lbs+ my friend took out the ac on his civic it was 22lbs. we weighted it. other then that i don't know what else can really be done. probaly little tid bits that take off 2-4 lbs each. You could take out your grill.

civics have much much smaller a/c system than camry. my gf has one and the radiator is on one side and the condensor on the other. the camry uses a large condensor about the same size as the radiator.this would also mean a larger evap .... so in all twice the size ... i say around just 50lbs for the a/c. i dont think cc whighes that much but still every little bit counts.

well you do have a point but also the AC condensor is like 1/2 the radiator, thats why i thought that way. I wouldn't understand why someone would want to give up the AC on camry's its very strong and ice cold. But thats all on the person.

2400 lb beast? haha dream on... more like 3000 lbs.

all the stuff you just listed off is pretty much the basic stuff... you could remove your AC and cruise control and lose another 100+ lbs probably. and you can buy one of my carbon fiber trunks to lose about half of the weight there. ;) :D
i thought the sticker on the inside of the door says 2400 lbs without persons?...

Dude, there's no reason to gut your camry unless you're adding a good amount of power. don't drive around with no seast an interior panels in -- it will look really stupid!

I would do seats + spare and jack for a track day.

I wouldn't cut out all the interior though, unless it was strictly a track car.

Seats are easily put back in. :)

2400 lb is probably the dry weight. A V6 Gen 3 Camry is about 3100 lbs, and the 4cyl should be about 2800-2900.

2400 lbs is already lesser than the current Celica GTS, which already boasts a 2500lb vehicle weight.

True, but one of the things that means is that performance can easily be acheived by shaving weight off the car.

Not to say I'd strip out all of the sound deadening materials and everything, but it is to say that if you wanted to lose cruise control and take out the extra seats for track-days, it would definitely help out.

For all those that said I was crazy....your still correct but I have something to show for it...LOL!
