Hi everyone have solved alot of problems reading threads here in the past hoping you can help me with this one. Just bought a 2019 highlander with only 25k mi. I am happy with my purchase but the dealer talked me into an extended warranty “bumper to bumper” for 7yrs 90k mi for $2700 citing how expensive the electronics and AC compressors and stuff are to fix now. So my question is do these things really go bad and it’s a good idea to have the protection or did I just get hosed? I never buy extra warranty’s but I didn’t see it coming and I was tired.

I bought an extended warranty once on a Japanese auto, complete waste of money. Only one thing went out in 5 years, a bushing to rear suspension, they said No dice, its a 'wear' item, so I got exactly $0.00 benefit from the entire cost.

They make Billions off these and aim to provide as little coverage as possible on a highly reliable vehicle to begin with. Hope the dealer didn't talk you into "nitrogen" filled tires for $500 extra like my dealer tried on me, they're not called "stealerships" for nothing. Luck.
