I put 14.44 gal. in my 2022 for the first fill-up. DTE was in the single digits although the needle was still slightly above "E" but I didn't want to run out of gas so I filled it. I never run a car that low but did it as an experiment and to get 600 miles out of the first tank.

Had just below half a tank, and planned on taking it down much closer to empty with a trip today, but gave into the rising prices and got hosed out of $0.20 per gallon when they increased the price 30 minutes before I drove by the gas station. Oh well, it will probably go up another $0.20 today!

Ha. Same thing happened to me. I was at 1/2 and normally refuel once it gets below 1/4 but with the current world situation I decided it would be better to keep it above 1/2. Was going fill it on Thursday but never got around to it. Went down yesterday morning and the price had gone up $.30/gal overnight. FWIW, I was at exactly 1/2 on the gauge when I filled it and it took 8 gal. to the first click.

Edit. I see it went up another $.10 since yesterday. Glad I bought the hybrid last Dec since it lessens the pain at the pump quite bit.

2022 Highlander Hybrid Fuel Tank

Just bought a highlander hybrids. Suppose to have a 17 gal tank but only filling up between 13-14 gallons. That’s almost empty. Thoughts?
