- I was looking under the hood of a new 4-Runner in the showroom and figured that the two hood strut's that come on the 4-Runner could also work on the Taco's hood. Then I can get rid of the old fashioned (CHEAP) metal hood rod/support. If my wife's cheap Kia has struts for the hood my Tacoma definately should. Has anyone performed this mod?

There was a company (Redline) that said they would make one for our trucks, they just needed a test truck so they could fit it. And the person that played the role of test monkey would get a free kit. They need someone up in MI, but no one from up that way responded saying they would do it. So, anyone from up that way want some free hood struts (assuming they haven't already found their monkey)?
