Motor vehicle Hood Automotive tire Vehicle Automotive design

I just changed the spark plugs on my 2012 V6 SE. that’s another story.

When I connected everything back up, I have one hose hanging out by itself that I can’t figure out. It connects to the purge valve on one end and has a clip to the air cleaner hose. What should it connect to? Is something missing? Is this a problem?

I don’t recall it being connect to anything when I started the project last night. Please help!

I took a few pictures before disconnecting everything to change the spark plugs out, and it seems like you're missing a coupler and hose somewhere. You should be able to take the airbox out and see if it's dangling somewhere.

Thanks, Luc. Any idea what that is or if it’s absolutely necessary?

I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer that. :sneaky: I would assume it serves a purpose if connected, not sure what would happen if left unconnected.

Without a diagram in front of me I'm guessing, but if it goes from the purge valve to the intake manifold that is what actually purges the canister. If left unconnected you will have a small vacuum leak and not be able to purge the canister. Eventually you'll probably get a CEL, and if left like this for a long time possibly damage the canister.
