Holy crap !!!!
A 6-year-old boy was taken on a dangerous ride after his parents' vehicle was carjacked by gunmen Wednesday night, police said.
Two men took the boy after knocking his father down with two punches in the face and firing five gunshots as they sped out of the Hamilton Court Apartments' parking lot at 9220 Bellwood around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
About ten minutes later, officers found the boy safe in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 9900 block of Beechnut. He was returned to his parents in less than a half hour, police said.
The carjacking occurred after the boys parents pulled into their parking lot.
The parents, whose names were not released, told police the men accosted them as they exited their silver 1999 Toyota Camry, which remained missing this morning.
The mother told police she tried to remove her sleeping son from the car's back seat but the men pushed her away and drove off, firing as they went.
"The mother said she believed they were shooting at her and her husband,'' police spokesman John Cannon said today.
The distraught parents could give only vague descriptions of the gunment. They said the two appeared to be between 25 and 35 years old and weigh between 170 and 200 pounds. Both were Spanish-speaking. One wore a white T-shirt and the other a black T-shirt, they told police.
The license number of the family's car is 468-LVC. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS(7477) or the police robbery division at 713-308-0700.
