i have a 90 model truck and it has the old r-12 compressor, i had to take it off my truck and in the process i removed the oil out of it so i can start off fresh, how much compressor oil do i put in this compressor? i know its differant from 134a when it comes to putting oil in, and it seems nobody around here has the answer, i have two twenty pound bottles of r-12 from an old a/c shop long ago so i dont have to do a switch over

Two 20lb bottles?!

My god, screw your a/c and sell that! I've heard r12 brings like 150 to 200 dollars a pound. We have a 30lb tank with roughly 21lbs left. Dad used it on his 65 Chevy II that has factory a/c.

I'm hijacking your thread. How much do you put in a truck with r134a? I put a compressor (used) in my truck and dont have a clue how to service it or oil it.
