Last december, I got a new battery belt and alternator put in at an indy.

Couple of weeks later the car was dead and the Indy mech kindly came to boost it.

Turns out the trunk wasnt closed right for 1-2 weeks and it drained the battery.

Now the car is parked for a while again, just wondering how long a battery should last while parked, I imagine at least 2-3 months, if its a fresh new battery? I'd like to use the car more but we have a 2 spot parking and the other car blocks it... It doesnt have great winter tires so I see a benefit in not using it that much at the moment. also being the only one driver most of the time doesnt help with switching the cars' position in the parking !

Just don't want to have to boost this battery a second time already!

I've had batteries sit all winter (~November to ~April) and start the car right up in the spring. Others have been dead after sitting for the winter. There are probably a lot of factors.

If you are sure the car will be sitting you could always remove the battery and stick it on a maintainer, or at least disconnect it to remove parasitic loads.

If you are not planning on driving the vehicle for more than a week, let alone two or three months, either unhook the battery or attach a trickle charger to it.

The battery should last quite a while sitting IF there's no parasitic drain. Like blinking car starters or the security light on the dash. If your reallt worried about it then take the battery out for the winter and store it somewhere that's not freezing cold.
