Ive been modding my 1997 Camry for a while and I eventually want to lower it on coilovers. With my 17" wheels I have a huge wheel gap, especially with how camry suspension is raised in the front.

I was wondering how low the camry can be dropped but yet still be drive-able. Doesn't the subframe hang super low?

I want to tuck my wheels, it looks like it needs a 3.5 inch drop in the front and a 2.5 inch drop for the rear :headbang:

Can this be done!?!

Also, are D2 coilovers worth it? Which coilovers would you recommend?

our subframes do hang superlow, and on 17" chances are- yr not gonna be able to wheel tuck because the subframe will be too low to drive daily for majority of the people.

17" don't tuck.

18" tire tuck.

19" wheel tuck.

im on JIC coilovers and on 17" .. and its no where near wheel tuck and i blown through 3 oilpans going this low. but its sooo worth the look on peoples' faces.

good luck!

hey One,

I have TRD struts/springs with 18X7.5. If I have the Ultra Racing sub frame connector in the front do you think I am going to scrap a lot????

all camry modders are aware of the haters in some form and either hate them back...or love them for their efforts to hate...i'm among the latter:clap:.

im on ISC coilovers and 17s as well. i have only about half an inch till these COs bottom out and im FAR from wheel tuck. to get that youll ahve to go with bigger wheels, but ya may have rubbing and pot hole issues if ya dont set it up right.

i've been on coils for about 3 or 4 months.. roads here in norcal are shitty as fukc. but i'm not gonna use that an excuse to stop what im doing.

on semi-flat ground..

on one of those lengthy speed bump.. i've teetered before in SF, i had to bust out the woodplanks and hold traffic for about 5mins. lol

Thats sick!! Do you have a pic of the wheel gap and the oilpan? :D

Do you think its possible to get a drop like that on GC's and Tokicos? Also does anyone use D2 Coilovers, they are the cheapest ones.

I was also wondering have you ever thought about cutting out a sheet of metal and bolting it up as a "sheild" to protect the oil pans/downpipe area? Is this even possible?! LOL

i got them from killacam i believe, may have that mixed up. they were vbery slightly used and an awesome deal, just an unfimiliar brand. new they are like 1500 bucks. the pics on cardomain however are not the ISCs but the old Ksport fronts and my old spring strut combo in the back.

and sweet, thanks man.

the ISC dont much either. there is about a finger wheel gap in the front and there is only a 1/2 inch before they are bottomed out. after that id have to screw with the preload.
