My 97 Corolla with air conditioning has a 2nd cooling fan just behind the front grille. I think it's referred to as the condensor fan. How do I remove it? I can take out the radiator and the fan attached to that, but there's something that looks sort of like another radiator still in place, and the fan it trapped between that unit and the front grille.

That "another radiator" you see is the air-con condenser. You don't want to be removing that.

For mine (Aus-build so may be different to US) I had to remove the grille, headlights, front bumper, oil cooler (if fitted), front bumper TTT crossmember, horn, bonnet catch, and vertical stay

That photo is most of the way through, just the vertical stay and the bonnet catch to go before you can get the fan out. Had to do this twice when I was swapping out my A/C fan to a hacked-up one I had to allow me to fit my Hella grille in the new shell (the back of the light interferes with the fan shroud so I took to it with a pair of sidecutters), thus keeping an intact spare.

I did it on my 96 US built, Iz did it the lazy way.

Removed the two bolts thay connect the latch to the vertical metal and than just unbolted the 4 bolts on the fan and pulled it up.

Just removed the passenger headlight, grill and those two bolts.

RollaLover96, is it possible you have dealer installed AC? Because on my 97 I can't do it like you say.

I pretty much have to remove everything like Hiro said (but no oil cooler in the US). The fan is under the top crossmember. It is held by 2 bolts to the vertical stay and 2 plastic pins on the other side. Then it needs to slide toward the center which means the vertical stay needs to be removed. Then it needs to come forward which means all the bumper parts need to be removed.

The good news is all these parts are pretty simple to remove. Just 10mm or 12mm nuts/bolts.
