Recently my speedometer has begun to give a higher MPH reading than actual speed. All other gauges work fine. I tested that it was the gauge cluster by swapping it out with a known good one, and the replacement worked correctly. So it's definitely my original speedometer that's no good.

I've read that the speedometer alone can be replaced. I would like to keep my original odometer, but I'm not sure if the speedometer/odometer combo is one piece or if it can be separated. Does anyone know if they can be separated? Can anyone provide some guide on how to make that repair?

Do you have the original gauge cluster ... combination meter ... so that you can take a picture of the back ... where the parts are?

Just curious ... don't know if your request is feasible. It may be that the design is such that the odometer can't be changed out without tearing something up.

It has an offset of +10 MPH (i.e. reading = 20MPH & actual = 10MPH, reading = 40MPH & actual = 30MPH etc)

Ah, OK. You can replace just the speedo. LynchburgCSI did a 4 part youtube DIY for installing LEDs, which requires removing the speedo. These should help...

I'll give it a try and report back. Hopefully the Gen 4 is similar to that Gen 3 video series.
