09 Rav. Manual HVAC selector, not push-button on the dash Dash selector works - it manually rotates as it should and the belt behind the dash appears intact. Problem is the gear that it turns is broken. Not sure if you can see in the pic below, but of the 3 tabs that retain it to the side of the heater box, two are busted off.

Dealer is unable to find the part. They've ordered in the belt and a couple of electric servo selectors, but can't seem to find this piece. Is this something that is available separate (used is just fine with me) or do I need to order the whole heaterbox (ugh).

And just to be sure, this gear is on the passenger side of the heaterbox.

I would be surprised if it was available, they'd rather sell you a new dashboard. A salvage yard would be a good place to start looking.

I am dealing with a 2011 limited with similar issues but on the automatic version. Seams the sealant they used on these heater boxes drips or runs down on the dampers and glues them in place. 2006 on....anyone know a good class action lawyer?
