Well, the Honda CRX I bought has served me well. I got a bunch of website renewals recently and I am in the market for another car. I told myself I wasn't going to buy a corolla unless it was a 5 speed. I found a white, 93 5 speed, with 185k on it. Let me tell you the story.

I meet the guy in Media, PA, which is OUT there for me. The white paint is old, scratched, not faded, but just old. I pop the hood to find - RUST. ON EVERYTHING. The pulleys, any and all brackets, nuts and screws, and dirt and dust everywhere. Belts were bad and the alternator had hard water stains on it? It was leaking oil from the Valve Cover, and from the Distributor seal.

It ran reallllyyyy smooth, I beat on it for the test drive. Shifted smooth, down shifted smooth. No vibrations, no hesitation, ran really nice. So we bring it back, I open the hood again for another inspection, and I open the oil cap to see dark brown stained aluminum, a sure tell tale sign of bad valve seals.

I offered him 700 for it. The next guy he showed it to, bought it for $1000. I feel sorry for who ever bought.

I was that close though. haha.
