The sportcross didn't sell very well... or at least they are very rare around here... I've seen maybe 3 of them? But maintenance and performance wise they shouldn't be much different than the regular sedan style IS.
Have you also considered Subaru? (since you like the wagon style)
VWs are pretty well-known for electrical problems... plus no head office here so service can be a pain.
