I get to go with whatever two options I like best because I have a set of split seats that will fit and the original bench that I'm gonna keep. That way I can swap them out as I see fit. Keep it fresh in there.

anyway. I was walking through the fabric section at my local walmart just cause I was bored and I ran into black denim. I fell in love with the idea, but the more I think about it, the more I psyche myself out of doing it in black denim.

I was also thinking about black pleather outlining the denim for a leather and jeans kinda look, but I guess I need someone else to tell me it wouldn't look horrible. I need someone else to like it, too. That way, when I pick my gf up I can feel confident that she might actually like it.

The color theme is Blue and black with some white hints. But I think white gets too dirty to do an interior in. and I like my truck waaaay too much to drive it sparingly.

oh yeah. and I also thought about cutting the headrests out of the bench for a more classic car kinda look? yes.. no? ideas?

So give me some input on what you would do if you had split seats or bench.

If you ever get rear ended you'll be glad you have the headrests.

Ask the girlfriend what she likes interior wise. Then she HAS to like it. Some of these women are pretty good at colors and color schemes anyway. :)

i think pleather would be better than denim. denim seems like it would be prone to fade quickly. i like the black/blue idea though

if i were re-doing it, id be using black/blue suede with a black dashboard and black doorcards...i just have a little crush on black interior [/drooling]

ya i did my headliner...some a hole cut it up and so now i have to redo it....take your old headliner out...keep it as together as pissible.....get someone that knows how to sew and loopp whatever material you get around the metal cross bars your original headliner is attached to(this is taking for granted the idea that your headliner is held in remotely like mine?) but gatting things prepped and planned will help when you install....trying to trim shit while your hanging it sucks.....trust me!!!!

You might want to to go an upholsterer and get a price and maybe some design ideas as well. Unless you already know how to sew, this may not be the project to learn on unless the fabric is really cheap so you can afford to screw up a couple of times.

I like the denim idea myself. I don't think they would fade as fast as say a pair of jeans since you aren't washing them every time you sit in them for a day. Also, if they do fade you can simply buy fabric dye and re-dye them.

Do yourself a favor and throw away the original bench seat. That's my opinion anyway. I had two different bench seats in mine and now I have a split bench out of an extended cab. They are WAY more comfortable since you can adjust the back. Plus you don't have to make the passenger get out to get behind the seat. I saved my bench for like a year and it just kept getting in my way. Out to the trash it went.

Just my $.02.

I have new foam for it and an extra pad layer to install. I like the seat. Gives it a classic look. But I don't have a extra cab and I also have split seats.

Well it's just my opinion. The new foam still doesn't allow you to adjust the back position. That was the worst of my issues with it. I couldn't drive more than 30 minutes or so and my back would start bothering me. Now I can go quite longer. My back is probably older and more beat up than yours though.
