Hi Everyone!!

I am thinking of painting the Brake calipers of my '15 Camry XLE and was wondering what color who here has done?

I am doing it it more of preventing it from rust of future from winter driving and also add some visual "color" to the car

I am debating between the color Gold, Blue or Red.

I also want to debadge the "XLE" off my car but leave the "Camry" on. Would that look good? or should I just leave both on?

First what color is the car and wheels.
Painting won't stop "rust.". The calipers are aluminum. To do it properly is a LOT of work too.
I used the epoxy, which really stays on. Did fronts one day and rears another. You cannot (not supposed to ) drive the car for a full 24 hours.

Debadge? Some Plastidip and put them back, some leave them off. Mine are off but I'm working on creating a " black chrome" paint and putting them back. But my car is Attitude Black to start with and the chrome has black 3M vinyl.

You ought to do what YOU like.

BTW, I wound up putting the 3M caliper vinyl over that paint. It came out after I had bought the paint. A lot more colors, stays amazingly clean, and a great look.

I have the Blizzard Pearl for car paint and my rim color is a Pearl Glossy Black. [Picture below]

Won't me affect me if I can't drive the car car for 24 hours. I only drive it once or twice a week. I will have own it for 1 year [Sept. 24] and currently only have 3,600 miles on it :)

I have a few colors in mind for the calipers. Blue, Red, Gun Metal Grey or Gold.

What look are you going for?

Red and Green are very overdone and IMHO should only be used for Brembo or Nissin or similar high-end calipers.

Personally, I like silver, or gun-metal, or black, but I'm not trying to make these stand out.

Gold or Blue would be good if you do want them to stand out.

White, on those wheels. But this depends heavily how clean you keep your car...

I wash/touch up at least once a week, year round. Sometimes 2-3x... based on weather [I despise water spots/trapped dust]

Easiest way to see regarding debadging is photoshop.

I scrapped the CAMRY on mine, left XLE for two months, and then ended up getting rid of that.
Something "off" IMO about the font or size they used on the trunks...

Just personal opinion now. And being stupid. If I wanted black or gunmetal back there I'd just let the calipers get covered with brake dust. LOL.

Blue epoxy.

Blue 3M brake caliper vinyl - - after a year including winter and road salt.
Reflects as a sky blue to cross traffic headlights.

One weird thing: black vinyl reflects as white at night.

The red is DEFINITELY where I would go 3M and not paint.
That Toyota vinyl was out of BULGARIA (ebay). No problem with heat or salt there either.
There were six included in three different sizes.

I ditched the dealer plate holder, sticker, camry and se badges the first day I got the car. No regrets. I like that once in a while people ask me what it is lol.

I cant beleive people roll around with the dealer crap on their car. I asked for 1000/yr for advertising them on my car. They LOL'd so I asked for them to take it off and they wouldnt. So while the paperwork was being done, I took off all dealer markings and put them on the salesmans desk.

Then I took off CAMRY and SE a few days later. I know what car Im driving. Dont need a reminder. Thats about the same as some idiot tattooing his name on him/her self.

Oh yeah! Deal plate frame went fast.

Funny how they won't turn off seat belt chime. Illegal huh?

So is their frame that covers the bar code. Illegal in Indiana. LMAO

I put it right on bottom of contract. "No dealer markings".
Told him if they do they take it out and re-wax that body panel.

You're hard core. I only said $300 off for the ad. LOL

so i figured a small ad on my car is worth $1000/yr

Makes sense right?

That's kind of what I want to do with my Camry. It is the Predawn Gray Mica. I thought about doing the calipers in gunmetal or black. I could probably do without the Toyota logos and such on the calipers though..

Debadging has come to mind, and so has removing the dealer badging.

My last dealer vehicle I bought, I made sure they removed the dealer decals and such. No muss, no fuss. When I finally picked the truck up, the dealer decal, dealer plate surround, and the hitch plug, were all in the center console.... like I was going to add it myself. LOL.

What's the best thing to use to paint the calipers? Bad thing is, if it has to sit for 24 hours, I don't know if I can do that or not.

I'd use the epoxy. You can accelerate the paint and not wait 24 hrs.
I tried some vht on the hat of new rotors before installing (dont ask), so they were very clean. It stayed on part, came off another part.
