Hi guys i was wondering why the idle runs faster of 300 to 500rpms when i turn my heating fan on, no matter if the heating is on or not, as soon as i turn the fan on the rpm goes up... 2002 corolla thanks in advance!

Read that the car will turn the AC on if the dial is set to Max heat. Just turn it back one click and ensure the AC is off. Still high rpm when you turn it on then I'm unsure.

The AC can also remove moisture so at Max heat it turns on to remove condensation. I am not an HVAC guy hopefully someone else can explain it better if you need. Just go max less one click and the AC will stay off.

what he said is correct the ac system de-humidifies the vehicle so when defrost is on it has to get all the moisture out of car. but mine does the high rpm too
