Hi, I am having to replace the windshield on 2019 RAV4 Hybrid Ltd. thanks to a dump truck rock attack. I am looking to see if I can take this opportunity to install the heated windshield. I have purchased the interior switch (part 84794-0R030; SWITCH, WINDSHIELD H) and I am trying to find how to install the switch and related necessary fuses, then I will ask safelight to install the heated windshield instead of the regular one, I assume the 'plug' for the windshield is already in place.... Is this doable? Any guidance, pictures would be most appreciated...

I can't answer your question about the windshield de-icer, but I've heard of numerous people who had windshields replaced by Safelite and who ended up having problems with the various sensors that are built into the windshield not working.

I think that my choice for getting a windshield replaced would be to have a Toyota dealer replace it with a genuine Toyota windshield. If insurance is paying for the replacement, it shouldn't cost you any more to have the work done than what it would cost with having Safelite do the replacement.

Thanks. Safelite will adjust the sensors for a fairly large stack of bills 🙂

My local Toyota dealer doesn't do windshields but referred me to their vendor of choice, waiting for a quote.
