I'm sorry if it's been posted before but I didn't find it. I checked my owner's manual and nada...

My question: I see my intake line running from the throttle body down to my airbox. Now, as I looked at that very intake line, I see that something else is "plumbed" into it. It's also receiving air. What is it? All I know is that when I looked at the black box, it read "Denso" (Yes, I know that's a spark plug brand) so.. what is it????

Ohhhh.. that's what it does??? Hmmm.. interesting. So, what's inside of it?

Meanwhile, my car already whistles. When you lightly step on the throttle, it whistles. I'll see if I can put up an audio clip and see what you guys make of it.

Ohhhh.. Sorry to ASK for the millionth and ONE time but I wanna get a K&N Filter but am undecided because I hear about these MAF sensor gettin' f'ed up 'cuz of the oil. So, what's the dealio? What the SAFEST way to use the K&N filter?

just buy a k&n air filter for your stock air box, stick it in there, and wallah.... the only time you should be worried about the maf sensor going off is in the mercedes benz M class.... any kind of intake modifiation screws the MAF sensor up and screws with the car's performance.

5S-FEs don't have a MAF (mass air flow) sensor. They use a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor.

MAPs? I'd ask how it works but I think I'll search it.. Thanks for the heads up..

Meanwhile, that means I have nothin' to worry about with the oil of the filter then??

ive taken the bottom one out....

do the caps cover the open hole? because that is my concern. Won't they make it not sound as gnarly?
if you removed the upper resonator without plugging it, that's about the dumbest thing you could do, as there's no filter to filter out the dirt and debris from going straight into the intake.

Hold on.. plug up the upper resonator? How does it work? I'mma just do reasearch. But, there are no ill effects to bypassing it (upper resonator) when shooting for a CAI? All that's plugged into the CAI is the O2 sensor and vaccum line, right?

How about this. Can we use the plastic line and just move the box and use a short ram to finish the length of it to do a CAI? In other words, just extend the plastic line with a short ram?

P.S. How about that AEM intake for the Scion TC? Could that work? I guess modding it would be the trick (if you can mod it to fit, it can work..) Yeah yeah..
