2017 Camry SE 2.5L, 6 speed AT , 44K miles

At steady throttle pressure get occasional heitation/power loss/bog effect. Engine doesn't actually quit, just a slight power loss and resulting rpm drop. Giving it more gas has no effect. Back off throttle pressure slightly for a moment , then bring back to normal and everything is fine for awhile. Random occurence at any speed or engine temp. No codes or pending codes according to my ScanGauge. Thought maybe bad batch of gas, so threw in a can of Heet and re-filled at 1/2 tank level. Both tanks were BP but from different stations. Unfortunately no chage yet. Anyone have ideas or suggestions? Adult driven, mostly highway/suburban about 45 mile commute each way.

Definitely check your ground terminal on the battery. I had a similar issue once and turned out the cable had corroded just enough to intermittently lose connection. A weak or failing battery can exhibit these issues also.

Tnanks, plan to check all cable connections this weekend . Trying to find where negative battery cable grounds at. Cable seems to disappear into a wire loom but I haven't taken anything apart yet.
Voltage usually shows between 13.9-14.2 .

I'm not familiar with the scan gauge but does it have the capability to monitor the engine systems such as fuel trims, throttle position, O2 and such? And have a recording capability?

Some years back, had a problem similar to yours. Using Premium helped, as did cleaning the MAF.
Finally the MAF failed, and after replacement, no hesitation, bogging, or odd shifts, and I could go back to regular gas.
Is yours the same problem, it's anyone's guess; I'd try cleaning the Mass Airflow Sensor -> MAF.
NOTE: Supposedly these sensors need a specialized cleaning solvent, check your favorite parts store.

Cleaned battery connections and MAF today. MAF has Denso on it. Will try and get it out for a decent length test drive tomorrow . Thanks for the suggestions.

Re-cap
After cleaning battery terminals car ran much better, no hesitation issues. However it did develop a bogging issue when accelerating coming out of a turn at stop signs. I'm thinking that was part of ECM re-learn. Cleaned MAF the next day. No issues from a standing start but a huge bog first time I got onto an expressway (fully warmed up after 30 min of driving). Car pretty much fell flat on it's face. Again thinking ECM re-learn. Almost 300 miles since that episode and no further issues. Thanks everyone for your help.

I had a bogging issue and a few other nuisances. A couple things that helped me get my camry running like an 80k mile engine into the late 100s and 200s are-

OEM air filter
OEM oil filter, any synthetic oil
Clean MAF
Replace PCV valve
Techron treatments (use the big 20oz bottle)
Air filter every 10,000 miles (city only)

Even though you only have 44k it's still prone to having the carbon cake up by sitting around or low mileage trips so that's definitely something to keep in mind especially if you feel like the engine isn't running as smoothly as it should

Are you the original owner? 90 miles per day for a 5 day work commute since 2017 would've put you at over 150k by now. Is the commute new or has the car been sitting around collecting dust recently?
