Hello I am new to this site and new to Tacoma's. I just got my 06 Taco about 3 weeks ago, and I love this thing. It only had 4k miles on it when I bought it. Since then I have been looking all over the net for stuff on this truck and luckily I found this place. I just wanted to thank everyone here for the great DIY write ups and all the comments back on them to help. I have only done a few things to this truck. A head unit, 2 door speakers, blacked out the headlights/clear cornered them, and also blacked out the grille emblem. I am thinking tomorrow I will de-badge it and soon when its nice here I am planning on doing the wheels in black also. It has always been my dream to own a nice white truck with black rims and soon it will come true. Man this thing is alot better than my POS Ranger I had. Anyways here is a before pic and then after I did the few mods. I also went with new marker lights and turn signal lights, and I also went with some silvers star headlights. I like it.

Welcome. This place is like an encyclopedia britanica for the Tacoma, lots of usefull stuff and people help too!

I had a POS Ranger before the Taco. I'd probably still be driving it now, if I didn't have ********* and their accesories to tote around. It was a 94 w/ 317k.....but, boy did it suk in the snow.

Nice truck and Welcome to the forum! As you have already learned, modding is an addiction with these trucks, many other people can vouge for that on here too. Best of luck with everything

Welcome. You will find out this place is great. I have never loved something so much as I hated it. So many cool things to do as long as you have the time and money. Warning though, its better then crack but more expensive

yea it is very addicting, every day I have something new to do it, thanks for the welcomes and comments on the truck, I just got one tire painted but I am letting it dry before I do the next. I don't really have a great floor jack so I have to do one tire at a time. Time consuming but the only thing else I have to do right now is either get a job or mow the lawn....so paint the rims it is!! haha. and on a side note does anyone know of a good adhesive or sticker that I can use to mount my docking station for my SAT radio? I had it in my ford and when I pulled it out it won't stick to anything.

Depending on where you are putting it you can use the 3M sticky tape for moldings or you can use the heavy duty velcro.

Welcome, you should have made the introduction like this.

Allow myself to introduce er... myself

This is honestly the best site in terms of info for doing the DIYs that dealers charge big big big $$$ for.

second the 3M tape. Try to find the VHB tape with red release liner. It will bond to anything. We used to hang 50# aluminum Dibond panels with it.

Heat gun/hair dryer set to "High". Warm it up and then it will peel of. Use rubbing alcohol to remove any residue. Before gluing anything to the truck, make sure to clean it and then degrease it with alcohol.
To buy, try a sign supply shop, or a sign shop. If you need a little bit, they might sell you their used rolls. VHB is clear with red release liner. There is another double-sided tape, made by 3M, with white foam. Vendor shipped it to me once, by mistake, and it is not nearly as good as red-liner.
Look in the yellow pages for Sone, Charrette, there might be more on the East Coast that I do not know about.
