About 30000 miles ago, a small spider got inside my spedometer, spun a web on the needle and died a couple days later. Now his carcass just lies there in the housing. Does anyone know of a way to open up the spedometer so I can clean it out? I took the dash aprt once, but the spedometer appeared to be a sealed assembly. He got in somehow, so there should be a way out.

After you remove the gauges (see here: http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=225 ), then you release the 6 tabs on the back of it (also seen in that link). I've heard that you need to make sure you release them evenly so you don't crack any of the plastic.
