My truck did not come with the inverter, and was thinking about adding one. There are various aftermarket products. Questions:

1) Could the inverter be mounted near the battery or somewhere in the engine compartment? Could you then buy the Toyota switch or equal so you could turn it on from the driver's seat? Can you buy switches easily that fit the blanks near the lower driver side panel?

2) Is there a place to run wires behind the dash and through the firewall easily?

3) What would be the easiest way to install an outlet in the cab and one in the back bed?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

A good place to get wires from the engine compartment to the interior is through that big grommet that all of the stock wiring goes through, on the drivers side firewall. If the wire is too big to run through the same hole as the stock wires just use a razor blade and cut a slice in part of the outer area of the grommet and start a new hole in the same grommet.
