Hi All-

been a while since I've posted, but I am still running my 85 MR2, and now I have a 2004 Scion xB going under the knife. I'm doing a major drivetrain swap on the xB, and I need to disassemble my CV halfshafts to send example parts to an axle fabricator.

I am having trouble removing the outer (wheel end) CV joint from the axle shafts.

I've tried the infamous "pipe trick" to no avail. The xB factory manual seems to indicate that the outer joint and axle are a unit and cannot be disassembled. The joint does move slightly on the axle, indicating it is probably only held on there by a spring clip of some sort.

Has anybody succeeded at this, and if so, how?

Thanks
