Hi guys. I have a 2010 Corolla CE with a 4 speaker (non-JBL) system. I recently had all four (front + rear) stock speakers replaced with MTX Thunder series speakers. The sound quality is dramatically better with the new speakers. The highs are so much more clear and distinct. I am still running it all through a stock deck but that will be changing soon.

I am interested in installing 1" tweeters in my car and I was wondering if it is possible to do so? I do see the mount/housing for tweeters on the corners of the front windows. The tweeter system I am interesting in buying is this:

http://shop.mtx.com/p/l_566/MTX_Audio_TX1_Thunder_Axe_Separates_25mm_Tweeter/listing.html

Here's my question: Looking at the product description, I am guessing this does include a crossover system. Is this ALL I need to take it to my local car audio install shop? Or are there any other extra accessories that I need?

Thanks a lot for the help guys.

I would have purchased a nice 2-way component speaker system that already had the x-overs, woofers & tweeters in one simple package. I did the same thing years ago with my 89 Corolla GTS that I installed a 3-way component system from MB Quart with a tweeter, 4" mid & 6.5" woofer. It was simply the best sounding system that I've ever heard or owned.

I'm sure that you can add these but what you may need to still buy should be checked from an audio shop. ;)

To answer your question, yes its possible.

But i'm not sure if the wiring is just laying there inside the door panel, or if you'd have to buy it.

I'd wait for Jeff to chime in.

Thanks for the replies. When I called Best Buy (the installer there is very professional and knows what he is doing), I was advised that wiring won't be an issue as they can just wire it from the front speakers. They just advised me to "make sure" I am getting a crossover system with them or the tweeters will be destroyed as soon as mid-high frequencies start kicking in.

Just waiting for Jeff to chime in. I saw his thread with pictures of tweeters, speakers, amp, etc and WOW he has such a tasteful system going on in his Corolla.

as per the product features - a crossover is supplied. If you do go ahead with the install, you should disconnect the tweeter that's attached to the woofer because..... 1 - the sound might become too bright and..... 2 - the two tweeters might interact with each other and taint the over-all sound. IMHO.
