Can you put an 89 3sge head on an 88 fe block? What problems would I run into, and how much should I expect to pay for the 3sge head? Thank you for reading and for any help you have to offer.

it can be done, but not without more work than its worth. for the amount of work, you might as well swap the whole engine over. Expect to pay $1200+ for a good engine and harness and all the other stuff you need.

Why? They're both 2.0L. You don't gain anything. It'll cost as much if not more then a swap. You'll have low compression with the 3S-FE piston.

Pretty much what they said. It can be done but a waste of time and money. You'll end up with less power than a stock 3sge. You're probably better off just taking your head to a machine shop.

Thanks folks. I don't have big build up plans for my GT, but I found a wrecked GTS. The exhaust looked impresive and the price was right, so I grabed it. I was just wondering what else I should grab while the gettin is good. I bought my GT for the fuel economy, but it's just begging to be some kind of sports car.

grab the manifold/downpipe and slap it on there, good for a few hp+

Those Toyota folks are clever. So that intake from the 3sge will bolt up to a 3sfe? Will I need diferent injectors?

yikes- no manifold and downpipe as in the exhaust manifold and down pipe.
