I'm replacing a seized motor in a 96 Corolla wagon, and while I've got it all out I'm replacing a bunch of seals and gaskets. I'm looking for a list of torque specs, and I've found the major components like crank, rods, and head, but can't find listings for the little stuff like oil pan bolts, torque converter bolts, water pump bolts, bellhousing bolts, etc, etc.

Is there a comprehensive list that exists anywhere? I couldn't find anything here, or on Google. I hate to think my search skills are starting to decline.

Found one. My local library has a subscription to a Chilton's reference database, and there was a list. For the sake of anybody doing a search in the future, here you go. For some reason the list doesn't include alternator or A/C bolts. I've seen A/C mounting bolts listed at 18 ft.lbs for other Toyota engines, but I don't know if that's accurate for the 4 and 7 AFE motors.
There was also no graphic showing which of the A245E transaxle retaining bolts are the A, B, C, or D bolts. I assume the larger the bolt, the more torque.

Found this graphic on tcorolla.net indicating bellhousing bolt torque. They list 3 bolt sizes, whereas Chilton's lists 4, but with a spec of 18 ft. lbs. vs 17 ft. lbs., I'm guessing the difference is insignificant.

If you're doing any involved work it's best to get a used factory repair manual. On ebay now you can get a 1996 Toyota Corolla Repair Manual for $80 and the 1996 wiring diagram manual for $30. Having the torque specs is great, but sometimes there are some details in the repair manual, like what order to torque the head bolts, or to do the final torque on some suspension bolts with the wheels on the ground.

There may be some errors in that list which were in the factory repair manual. The 7 in-lbs for the pulley to water pump is ridiculously low, and probably should be 7 ft-lbs. I think I've brought this up before. I've come across some others in the repair manual, usually giving the wrong units like that.

I agree with all that, especially the 7 in. lbs. I like having a factory manual, but in this case I've crunched for time, between weather and a deadline on when a rental car has to be turned it. But yeah, factory manuals are an awesome source of info.
