Hello,

I'm about to purchase a 2008 Limited with the JBL Nav head unit.

A number of questions come to mind.

What is the most current navigation DVD? How do Identify it? I want to make sure I get the current DVD when I pick the vehicle up next week.

I'm also interested in adding Sirius satellite radio, but the dealer wants $695.

Is it possible to buy the Sirius unit in the aftermarket? How difficult is it to install?

It's also my understanding that you can add Sirius or an IPOD controller, not both at the same time. True?

TIA

Poog..

Just my .02 here.

My Wifde has the 08 4runner limited, she is so sick of her JBL Nsv unit, just ordered a Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT with the appropriate hardware (Sirius, install kit, adapter, Ipod cable, etc) and she is getting th ewhole thing for about $1050..
IMO the Toyota Navs are a POS.. Got rid of mine way early on (Camry)

You get SOOOOO much more bang for the buck going after market.. Only thing I am working on now is integrating her rearview camera into the new unit.

O yea, the add for sirius to the Pioneer is about $100 (SCC1 and CD-SB01)

Let me know if you have any questions.. (Been in the 12volt industry long time)

I also have a 2008 Limited with the Navi. It has a few nice features, but,...I also just installed a Pioneer Avic z120BT. That baby really meshes well with the JBL existing amps. Now I can easily integrate XM or sirius. Also, the DVD player is very good on the pioneer and absent on the stock Navi. Lastly, the Pioneer has a ton of new features, like playing Pandora streaming music from your iPhone through the bluetooth connection. Glad I did the change. :D
