Just Bought a 1999 Tacoma Trd 4x4

Hi i just spent $4800 on a 1999 tacoma with 194k miles and it has a few things i need to fix and would like your guys opinions on how to do this.

First off it has no turn sinlges! i checked the fuse and lights and no problems there so it leads me to belive its a relay. Any idea where there located?

2nd the trucks tail lights do not work so im thinking of just rewireing them stright to the head lights power source this sould work right?

3rd its spitting 3 ODB-II codes at me any idea what they mean?

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum.

For the tail and turn signal lights, it sounds like there is one or more fuse that's blown. Before you spend a lot of time and wasted effort, check all fuses at all the fuse blocks. Pull each one and either test to make sure it's not a hidden break or swap with a new one.

If you have a multi-meter, you can check the fuses one by one, by checking continuity across the blades. If you find one that doesn't beep or go "0", then replace it.

Diagnostic code P0770 is a Shift Solenoid Malfunction in the automatic transmission (specifically shift solenoid valve 'SL').

PO172 is a code for the engine / system running too rich.

Hmm dont know what that means Shift Solenoid Malfunction in the automatic transmission (specifically shift solenoid valve 'SL'). So its something in transmission compter not working?

and the running rich part it says to clean the MAF and check for Vac leaks so im going to try that and see if it fixs it. Thats probly why i smelt weird excust when it was going up hills and stuff.
