For the tail and turn signal lights, it sounds like there is one or more fuse that's blown. Before you spend a lot of time and wasted effort, check all fuses at all the fuse blocks. Pull each one and either test to make sure it's not a hidden break or swap with a new one.
If you have a multi-meter, you can check the fuses one by one, by checking continuity across the blades. If you find one that doesn't beep or go "0", then replace it.
